Mrs Nurhidayah Muhammad Hashim

Hidayah is currently enrolled as a PhD candidate in the Asia Institute and Law Faculty under the supervision of Prof Abdullah Saeed and Prof Tim Linsdsey. By profession, she is a lecturer at University Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia and also a Shariah Lawyer in Selangor, Malaysia. She graduated with LL.B (Hons) in 1992 and LL.B (Shariah)(Hons) in 1993 from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Master in Shariah & Law in 2001 from University of Malaya.

Hidayah’s research interests include family law, comparative legal studies, Islamic jurisprudence and also Islamic civilisation. She has written a few books relating to Shariah and the practice in Malaysia and has had several articles published in the Shariah Law Report (Lexis Nexis Malaysia) and other journals in Malaysia.
